GTA III: The Definitive Edition is a remastered game of the classic open world game originally released in 2001. Originally developed by Rockstar Games and remastered by Grove Street Games, this edition includes graphical, gameplay and performance improvements to offer a more modern experience for players.

O GTA III: The Definitive Edition It was released with several problems, but the main point of improvement between the original and remastered version is, without a doubt, the graphics, without much aliasing. When it comes to graphics, the game has received a significant upgrade, with sharper textures, improved character and vehicle models, as well as improvements to lighting and weather effects. This provides a more pleasant and updated visual immersion, while still maintaining the retro style of the original game.

The original game was very important for the industry and also for Rockstar at the time of its release. It is revolutionary for its time because it is an open world and in 3D, has very good quality graphics and very fun gameplay. Its problems are also very significant, which is why it makes it a game that has aged very poorly. The game's story is very short and all the characters seem to be the same, there are few who show any personality.

The remastering of the game also brought something new that didn't exist at the time: subtitles in several languages, including PT-BR.

GTA III: The Definitive Edition It has several bugs and technical problems, including frame drops and graphic glitches. Additionally, there was some controversy regarding changes to the soundtrack, with some licensed songs removed due to copyright issues. Talking more about the bugs, they even happened to me in the cutscenes. An example of this was when I saw objects crossing other objects and even a mission having problems — I had to redo a mission because when I arrived at the location, the game loaded the beginning of the cutscene and then returned to the game and told me again to go to the same location, But it was no longer possible to continue the mission.

The missions of GTA III: The Definitive Edition when you fail you return from a checkpoint, but it is the beginning of the mission, in the mission's origin cutscene. This is horrible and makes the player, every time they die or fail the mission, have to move all over again.

In general, GTA III: The Definitive Edition offers an exciting opportunity for fans to revisit one of the most influential games in history, with visual and gameplay improvements that make it more accessible for modern gamers. Despite some technical problems such as story, bugs and very simplistic missions, leaving the player with no desire to carry them out, after an hour of playing you lose the desire to continue playing. It's worth playing for the nostalgia and fun of exploring GTA III's Liberty City if you've never had the opportunity before.

Conclusion

GTA III: The Definitive Edition features notable graphical improvements over the original version, notably reduced jaggies, sharper textures and improved character and vehicle models, maintaining the retro style of the original game. The inclusion of subtitles in multiple languages, including PT-BR, is a welcome addition. However, the release was marred by a series of technical problems, such as frame drops and graphic glitches, as well as controversies surrounding changes to the soundtrack due to copyright issues.

Despite offering an exciting opportunity for fans to revisit an influential classic, the game still suffers from significant problems, such as a short story and poorly developed characters, as well as simplistic missions and frustrating checkpoints that make the player replay long stretches of the game when they fail. These technical and design issues can affect the player's experience and reduce the willingness to continue playing after a while. However, for those interested in reliving the nostalgia and exploring Liberty City from GTA III, the game can still offer fun moments.
