The Last of Us is a post-apocalyptic HBO series BBased on the game developed by Naughty Dog, the series tells the story of Joel, a smuggler tasked with escorting teenager Ellie in a post-apocalyptic United States. In the series there are also Joel's younger brother Tommy, resistance leader Marlene, and Joel's smuggling partner Tess. Many fans wondered if it would really be a good idea to make the series, the question was whether HBO would make a faithful adaptation of the game or if it would be another work done anyway.
We have reached the end of the series The Last of Us In its ninth episode, the series, to date, has one season on HBO Max, but two new seasons have already been confirmed. Before watching the last episode of The Last of Us I was faced with a lot of comments on social media saying that the last episode of the first season would have a lot of action, something that doesn't happen in most of the series, but I ended up being disappointed and finding more of the same.

In its last episode we come across Ellie's mother, Anna, in labor, taking shelter in an abandoned house while running away from a clicker who ends up being bitten after coming into conflict with it. Some time later Marlene appears and we end up discovering events that we have never seen in the games.

The last episode of The Last of Us is really the outcome of the story that we have in the first game, however, in the hospital scene I believe that there were many moments of conflict missing and the production decided to convey everything in small takes and highlighting the background music, in other words, the outcome was very dynamic. The series is not like the game, after all it is an adaptation, but I believe that the production lacked action, lack of enemies or infected for the main characters to conflict with. Don't watch the series expecting something 100% faithful to the game, HBO manages to convey the essence of the game in the setting, acting, soundtrack, camera movement but ends up leaving aside all that adrenaline that we experience in the game.

HBO got the casting right with Bella Ramsey, the actress who plays Ellie, she had already done spectacular work in Games of Thrones and in The Last of Us she bursts with praise. Pedro Pascoal and company leave nothing to be desired and all the work done to be as faithful as possible to the game is evident. The end of the game and the series, for example, is a sign of this. I want to find something grander in the new seasons and for more conflicts to occur, I want the production not to miss the same opportunities they had.
