If you want to release your frustrations in a game, World War Z is the perfect choice. World War Z is a third-person action game developed by Saber Interactive and published by Mad Dog Games. It was released on April 16, 2019 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

The game's cooperative mode can be enjoyed both online and offline. However, there are only a limited number of missions available, totaling four stories with different characters. These stories take players to explore New York, Jerusalem, Moscow, and Tokyo. During my playthrough on normal difficulty, to be completely honest, I didn't encounter any significant challenges, even with a horde of zombies chasing my character incessantly.

The game takes place in the same universe as the film of the same name and puts players in control of one of four survivors fighting hordes of zombies. However, I feel that the character narrative in the game left something to be desired, which could have made the game much more captivating. World War Z is a completely frantic experience, full of action and without saving ammunition. As I mentioned before, I didn't have much difficulty facing the zombies, except during the missions located in Tokyo, where I found some challenges in completing them. World War Z is one of those games that immerses players in a world full of enemies and can be played in cooperative mode, very reminiscent of titles in the “Left 4 Dead” franchise.

As for game mechanics, “World War Z” features a very simplified control system and, in general, is very accessible. Players have the option to choose from six classes, each with their own specializations: Marksman, Explosives Specialist, Repairman, Medic, Hand-to-Hand Combat Specialist, and Crowd Controller. As you progress through the game, you can unlock new perks and weapons for each class, as well as allowing you to customize your weapons.

The game has the ability to support up to 1000 enemies visible on the screen at the same time, many of which can stack on top of each other to reach the player, no matter how high up they are. While facing the hordes of zombies, players have the opportunity to collect a variety of items scattered across the battlefield, although the locations of these items are procedurally generated and therefore vary from match to match. In addition to fighting zombies, players are also challenged to fulfill various objectives, such as escorting survivors to specific locations.

World War Z offers five cooperative multiplayer game modes. Player vs. Player mode Player vs. Zumbi pits two teams of players in direct confrontation, as hordes of zombies threaten both sides. Additionally, other game modes include Swarm Deathmatch, Swarm Domination, and King of the Hill.

Featuring a high-quality lighting system and well-optimized graphics, World War Z unfortunately doesn't reach the same standard of quality when it comes to audio. Despite having several audio issues, players may experience that the sound sometimes skips or stutters. It is important to highlight that these problems are not just limited to the game's sound system, but can also occur in zombie hordes and among members of survivor groups.

From my perspective, World War Z already has a cold start from the main menu, with the absence of a striking soundtrack that could instigate and intrigue players about what to expect in the game. For me, the soundtrack is one of the crucial elements in any game and its lack here is notable.

World War Z is a great option for those who enjoy games in the style of “Left 4 Dead”, with solid shooting mechanics, attractive visuals and an engaging story. However, it leaves something to be desired in terms of soundtrack, technical issues and character development in the narrative.
