Trials Rising — Satisfying, but no surprises | Review

Trials Rising continues to be what we've come to expect from the series: fun, addictive and easy to play.

Want to have fun? Trials Rising is the perfect choice for you! The Trials series, which began in 2000 as a browser game, has evolved over the years. Now, with Trials Rising, we have an improvement over previous titles, although without any major surprises. The game was released on February 26th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.

The gameplay does not present major changes in mechanics. Those who are already familiar with the Trials franchise before playing Trials Rising will be pleased with the familiarity of the game. Basically, you use the buttons to accelerate, brake and control your bike. This is the essence of the Trials game.

The game has seemingly endless content, as there is always the opportunity to improve on each track. It's the kind of game that keeps you hooked and you don't want to stop playing because of how much fun it is. Unfortunately, I played very little due to lack of time, but it's a wonderful game. It really feels like you're riding a motorcycle on crazy tracks.

The game features a diverse soundtrack, which mixes rock, rap, hip-hop, metal and EDM, with artists such as Motorhead, Anthrax, Trivium, In Flames, Billy Talent, Sum 41 and Jackson 5. Everyone can enjoy these songs while playing the game, eliminating the need to listen to music on Spotify with the video game sound turned off.

Trials Rising maintains the characteristics we have come to expect from the series: fun, addictive gameplay and accessibility. With a generous amount of content, creative tracks, and a well-designed difficulty curve, in my opinion, the game is a positive step forward in the series. The Nintendo Switch version may have some technical issues, but if you value portability in a game like this, this is the version for you.
