Ozark – A series of great quality | Review

If you haven't watched the Ozark series yet, don't waste time! The series is a crime drama and, without a doubt, is one of my favorite series. Ozark had its final season in April 2022, for a total of 4 seasons. In the Ozark it all starts with an ordinary life of a financial adviser, Marty Byrde, who is married to Wendy Byrde, a real estate agent with whom he has two children; Jonah Byrde and Charlotte Byrde. Suddenly, Marty moves his family from a Chicago suburb to a summer resort community in the Ozarks, Missouri. After a money laundering scheme fails, he finds himself in debt to a Mexican drug dealer.

The family's conflict with the Mexican cartel and with the feds always on their toes makes the family's life a cat and mouse fight, they run away and get into trouble, we believe they may not make it, but they always find some way out, they manage to get out of it. a hole and enter a much bigger one. It is a series with a lot of money laundering and buying from several establishments to do the laundering, in addition, it has many buried bodies, it is effective in hiding several bodies in countless ways. The children's situation, at first, is not knowing what's going on, but over time they find out and, in highlighting Jonah, the situation gets complicated and requires a lot more talk to get the boy to "the dark side". The couple's situation is cold, I mean in every way, even sexually. Wendy is a naive person who becomes a fierce woman over time, while Marty is the family's peacemaker.

The series is compared a lot with Breaking Bad, before watching I believed that this comparison could not exist, because my favorite series is Breaking Bad, but I was surprised and I can say that it is worth the comparison. In the series we have a unique soundtrack that almost goes unnoticed, but that gives tension topics in special moments. Ozark has something that American shows are great at doing: Setting. The construction of the series environment is incredible, impeccable, it is the envy of many productions. Ozark tells the story, in some moments, without giving too many details, making the interpretation of who is watching important, so always be aware.

I confess that it was very difficult to find negative aspects in Ozark and, fortunately, I will leave that blank. Ozark has a very rich cast: Jason Bateman is a renowned actor and, like Laura Linney, they are excellent in the series. I wanted to highlight Julia Garner, who plays Ruth Langmore, a girl with a simple life who enters the criminal world with inappropriate language and surrounded by people with no content. She plays such an exuberant role, such a brilliant performance for such a little-known actress. The three actors received awards for their performances in the series.

Ozark is a series with a lot of violence, a series where you watch an episode and you're already feeling the urge to find out the outcome of that story, you can get attached to the characters and get emotional when you're allowed to. It is, without a doubt, one of the best series ever made, a careful work with the creation of the script, the characters, the environment and much more.
